2009-10-11 - 5:15 p.m. Oh, it has been so long. It is Sunday afternoon and Chad is watching the football game. The Broncos are playing the Patriots. I didn't realize what a footballl fan Chad was when I married him. It's a new experience for me. Chad has an excellent diaphragm and can project his voice in amazing ways, and football makes him more vocal than almost anything else that I have seen. It's crazy watching him become an almost different person when the game is on. In better news, Chad passed the bar! On Thursday we found out. That's a huge relief, though I never really doubted that he would. Let's see. Life is similar but different .... Married life is great and our one-year anniversary is behind us, which is nice. My job is a new job, half-time facilitator, half-time intervention specialist, and I am honestly kind of hating it. BUT the nonprofit is going amazingly well. We just had the first of four workshops on short stories and had a great turnout with really high demand, lots of volunteers, and a fun time. We have a bunch of new board members who I love, as well. Things are busy. I guess that's not new at all. We did go to the Yo La Tengo concert last night, my first indie concert in a year or two. I miss the whole concert-going experience, and this one was even more special because I have been trying to see YLT for about ten years. I was foiled in Seattle by a lack of tickets, then in Ohio due to an evil illness, then in England due to being in Paris with my mom, then in Denver the last time by a departure date for Nashville. It was a great concert, and even greater because, out of their huge repertoire, they finally decided to play "Sugarcube," probably my favorite song of all time. I think I can die happily now. Well, at the very least, I am closer to being able to die happily. I think Georgia Hubley is the coolest woman in New Jersey, and possibly in rock these days.
